Welcome to cameron Park Lake

THIS SITE IS BUILT AROUND WILDLIFE—BOTH PLANT AND ANIMAL—AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE ON
CAMERON PARK LAKE. ENJOY.

Flame Skimmer dragonfly—

Flame Skimmers are among a handful of dragonfly and damselfly species found on the lake in spring and early summer. They are rapidly consumed by other lake wildlife, especially by our lake's birdlife, frequently seen taking mouthfuls of large insects to their nesting young..

Say's Phoebe—

Fox Squirrel—

Fox Squirrels are found on Cameron Park Lake year round. They are exciting to watch as gymnastics is their forte, second only to the energy they put into finding and stashing acorns, in which effort they are constantly at war with our local Acorn Woodpeckers, about which, more later.

Kingfishers work from perches, often over or at the edge of water. Small fish are their target, snatched from the surface or from just below and hauled to another waterside perch for consumption. The photographed individual is a female, her cinnamon belt a tell tale,
